Accelerated Resolution Therapy

What is

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a widely used fast, effective, and long lasting therapy. It works directly to reprogram the way in which problem emotions and sensations are stored, so that they no longer trigger strong reactions.

ART is evidence based and proven effective for treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, phobias, self-esteem problems and more. Clients often report benefits in as little as one to five sessions, and the effects are long lasting. ART is also a powerful tool for self-discovery, as it helps bring your unconscious thoughts, feelings, and beliefs into consciousness, so they can be dealt with in an appropriate way. Your brain does the work to make new connections to help provide resolution and closure. Once we process out the emotions and sensations, the cognitions and thoughts follow.

How can Accelerated Resolution Therapy help me?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy that helps rewire the way we store memories.

Relief can be immediate and is often felt within one session. This treatment method is a brief, yet effective, form of somatic, exposure-based therapy that helps decrease an individual’s internal and external reactions to negative thoughts and memories associated with trauma, extreme stress, and more.

Most of us experience trauma throughout our lifetime. Sometimes we find ways to move forward, and sometimes we find ourselves stuck within our past. You do not have to live with your past and Accelerated Resolution Therapy is the solution.

How does Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) differ from Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)?

Both practices utilize rapid eye movements to facilitate shifts in the brain; however, ART is more guided, replaces the distressing images, allows you to experience positive sensations and emotions, and it is less time intensive. An individual can find relief from an identified problem within one session.

Is ART like hypnosis?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy is NOT hypnosis. An individual will be talking to the counselor throughout the session. An individual is fully aware, fully in control, and does not lose consciousness during the process.

How long does it take?

An individual can find relief after one session. Depending on the extent of the trauma, or identified problems, often, multiple ART sessions are recommended. However, ART is short-term and is known to achieve benefits in as little as 1-5 sessions. This can also be accomplished more effectively through therapy intensives and retreats.
